Privacy Policy

This page describes how Cyprus International Sailing Club (CISC) collects, uses and protects your personal data, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who we are

Data controller: Cyprus International Sailing Club (CISC), Limassol Marina, Cyprus. Contact: info@cisc.cy.

What we collect

  • Account data: name, email, avatar, Telegram handle.
  • Sailing profile: sailing experience, preferred crew roles, short bio.
  • Membership form: full name, date of birth, nationality, phone, WhatsApp, passport / ID number, skills.
  • Regatta / event applications: team composition, event choice, notes.
  • Payment metadata from Stripe (session id, amount, currency). We do not store card numbers.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, cookies strictly necessary for the site to work.

Why we collect it

  • To operate the CISC member area, crew exchange, event registration and communication.
  • To process membership fees and issue receipts (legal basis: contract performance).
  • To comply with Cyprus and EU tax, accounting and sports-federation reporting obligations (legal basis: legal obligation).
  • To keep participants informed about upcoming regattas and safety updates (legal basis: legitimate interest / consent for marketing).

How long we keep it

Account and profile data are kept while your account is active and up to 24 months after your last activity. Membership and payment records are retained for the periods required by Cyprus tax law (up to 7 years). Regatta results may be kept indefinitely as part of public sailing records.

Who has access

  • CISC administrators and event organisers, on a need-to-know basis.
  • Team captains, only for members and applicants who joined their team.
  • Processors we rely on: Supabase (data hosting, EU), Stripe (payments), Telegram (operational notifications), Google Calendar (event listings).

We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct or update inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention).
  • Ask us to restrict or stop processing your data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent.
  • Complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of Cyprus.

Cookies

We use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work (authentication, language preference). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
